UTP and I have never been the sort to give each other many gifts...
For him, the reason was that his every gallant attempt at trying to sweep me off my feet with an expensive present always HAD to befall a tragedy... He eventually decided to give up trying!
For me, I have always been one to appreciate the "thought" and effort behind any gift more than the monetary worth of thing itself… and have always tried ways to out do my last creative effort with the next.. Until of-course I found it impossible to spare time with the kid in tow and he would always act all macho and oh-not-touched by my mush like he used to before.. Considering it was SO not worth the effort I eventually gave up trying too! :P
Between the few gifts that I got from him (USB flash disk included,) I had yet to meet that one incredibly cute gesture that would leave me dizzy and smothered in mush and I used to wonder if "romantic, sensitive guy" is a myth!
If it is that my rants about his stinginess at romance worked, or that he is learning to buy me the kind of gifts that I'd be nuts about and cherish for a lifetime, I don’t really know but on his way back from a business trip last week he got me a... tiny cowbell from Switzerland!!No ordinary cowbell this was... For any of us desi ones, growing up in the 90's the four letters DDLJ is sure to ring a bell! Yes I'm talking about the all time favorite Dil Wale Dulhaniya Lejaeingey.
This was a miniature of the lovely cowbell that plays a silent part in uniting Raj (SRK) and Simran (Kajol) in the movie which is nothing short of a mush fest and an all time favorite!
Now that’s the kind of a little something that would sweep me off my feet! I found it SO totally cute that I can almost picture him and myself running through the yellow fields with the cowbell!! hahahha:D

Hello Romeo, its good to have you back!! I want to believe this was not one of those random shots in the dark that landed bingo but that you've actually figured the kind of stuff that makes me happy! Hehe :)

All that you need now is a miniature cow to put the bell around, I suppose, unless you've thought of an alternative use, of course.
:D

Something for you on my blog, MayG.
He does something so incredibly romantic and you reward him with that poster???
Tch tch...
hey...gman got me a cow bell too, but in our case the joke was that I always wanted to keep a cow, and he thought the cow bell was "nearly there"...alas there is no cow (yet) and the cow bell is hanging as a quasi-wind chime in the court yard...but yup the DDLJ story is way sweeter than my cow-dreams...remind me to put up a pic of mine on my blog. Perhaps we should have adventures of the Swiss cow bell group now in addition to the Sacred Life thing?!!!!
